- Cut yarn leaving a 14" tail.
Carefully
remove stitches from

babies heads, gentle and stretchy. This hat will fit a 1-1 1/2 lb
preemie

Size
3 (Size 10 UK
needles) double
pointed knitting needles
(you will need 4 needles) - for delicate skin on a baby
this small, it's best if there are no seams.
Scraps
of soft (non-wool content) sock yarn or baby
yarn, even fingering yarn would be good
Beanie is made in the round, and is approx 3" tall

on 40 sts for 1 - 1 1/2 lb preemie-- split them onto 3
needles

Knit

purl 2 around for 24 rows
Decrease:
Knit 2 together around for
2
rows. Where you can't knit 2 together, just knit that 1
stitch.

- Cut yarn leaving an 8" tail.
Run
needle and yarn through remaining sts on needle. Pull to draw
shut. Weave the yarn tail back and forth a few times on the inside of
the hat to anchor yarn.
