DISHCLOTH AFGHAN
copyright
Beverly A. Qualheim 2007, 2019
Approx.
size 32" square and it
will be stretchy to wrap around baby. You've most likely knitted
that wonderful craft show fave dishcloth--easy pattern to memorize and
knit. This cute blanket is just as wonderful to make! Warm
as can be and so stretchy, this will soon be a favorite blanket to make
for babies you know. You may also sell blankets made from this
pattern.
(The hooded sweater pattern can be found here "5 hour baby sweater"
and the hood part is linked from that pattern on Fiber Gypsy's
website. The booties are loomed and that pattern is here.
Size
10 circular needles and 16 oz of soft, baby yarn or sports
weight yarn
Cast
on 4 sts
Row 2: K2,
yo, k to end of row
Repeat row 2
until 150 sts on needle
(or desired size for blanket)
Decrease: K1,
k2 tog, yo, k2 tog, k to end of row.
(HINT: When you K2 together,
be sure to go into the front of the sts and not the back. Just looks
nicer.)
Repeat
until you have 4 sts on needle again.
Bind
off and weave in all ends. This looks pretty if you change
colors,
use up your scraps too! You can also start a 2nd blanket. Making a triangle appox. 7", then bind off without decreasing
to become a hood. Then stitch that on in one corner.
