8" KNITTED BLANKET SQUARES

for a Crocheted square click here

Number of squares needed for one blanket-- 36 for baby blanket
Size 8 US knitting needles
Scraps of 4 ply worsted weight (10 ply in Europe)

Cast on 32 stitches  (knit 2 rows and measure to see if this is 8" across - if not, add or reduce number of stitches)
Knit each row until square is 8" long.

These squares will be made into warm blankets for residents in nursing homes, or for children's hospitals etc Thank you for your help!




Baby Hats - easy pattern!

This is for a newborn baby hat. Hat height =6.5" Length= 10.5"
Size 8 knitting needles
1 oz of worsted weight yarn

Cast on 23 stitches

Knit each row for 72 rows (10.5" rectangle)
Bind off stitches; fold hat in half and whip stitch the side seam. Weave yarn in and out of the stitches at the top and pull to gather top of hat. Weave the yarn inside the top of the hat, and tie the strand together, or weave in and out to secure.
