You can make these quick and easy squares to make warm blankets
for family and friends, or for your local shelters, hospitals, nursing homes

Abbreviations:
Ch = chain
Dc = double
crochet
Size G (4.00
mm) Hook
Small amount of Worsted weight yarn like Red Heart Super Saver, (10 ply
in UK terms)
Chain 31
Row 1.
Dc
in 4th ch from hook and in the next 4 chs.
Ch 1, skip one ch, *(dc in the next 5 chs, ch
1, skip next ch)*, repeat between *'s until end of the row
(ending with
your 5 dcs).
Ch 3 and turn. (4 ch 1 spaces)
Rows
2 - 14 (or 15): (basically repeating first row) Dc in the 2nd dc
of
previous row (the ch 3 counts as
your 1st dc at beginning of the row) dc in next 4 dc, *(ch
1, 5 dc in next 5 dcs*), repeat between *'s across row.
Square
should
measure 8"
END OFF: by cutting your yarn tail approx. 3 feet long-- leave
this on there so they can use it to sew squares together.
