Or, here are a couple: ![]() copyright 2014, 2018 - Beverly A. Qualheim - all rights reserved Just make the ball as large as you want and get several hats out of it. You can show the ties on the outside of the hat for a spikey look, or weave them inside as you go, which is what I did. Hobo-Hat pattern comes in 5 sizes - Babies, Elementary school kids, Teens/small woman, Women's, Mens. You need about 200 yds for the baby hat, up to about 350 yds for the men's hat. Crochet Hook size G or H (If you crochet tightly use an I or J hook.) Gauge: 7 hdc = 2" 6 rows= 2" Abbreviations: ch = chain, sl st = slip stitch, hdc = half double crochet, sts = stitches This is a great way to use up your yarn stash. I recommend using a single type of yarn per ball you roll, as in, don't mix baby yarn and worsted weight, unless you double strand the baby yarn. You want these to be nice and warm. There are many homeless, or those who don't have adequate warmth, and these beanies are needed by the dozens in every city! And these hobo-hats just turn out fun! Chain 4, join with sl st to form a ring, Ch 2. Rnd 1: 10 hdc in ring, join with a sl st to the top of the first hdc (not in the chain2.. the ch 2 does not count as a stitch).Ch 2.
