This
year we are going to do things a little differently. Instead of
completing an item each day, we will work on items for a whole week at
a time. If you knit, crochet, loom knit, sew, or even
quilt beatiful blankets ... please join us in
Lighting the World and our own lives, this December. ♥
December
1st is our World Day of Service to kick off the #LightTheWorld
project! Let's all knit, crochet etc for charity out
in public!
Several cities around the world have the wonderful GIVING MACHINES
there. See
if you live near one of them!
Week 1:
Light the WORLD |
♥
Look
on JustServe.org for local
service opportunities by City or Zip code.
♥ You can knit, crochet or sew newborn
hats
for your local hospitals, just call them, ask to speak to the
Volunteers Coordinator, and ask what their specific needs are. I
usually tell
them what items I can make too.
♥ You can also make hats, scarves, or earwarmers/headbands
for the homeless in your area. OR, mail something handmade and warm to Millie's Soup Kitchen in the Bronx!!
♥ Tie a bunch of handmade scarves to a fence, or lamp post etc (with permission
of course) with a sign that says "Made with love!
If you are cold, please take one."

Week 2:
Light Your COMMUNITY |
♥ Think of ways to
help your friends where you live - make a meal for them, text a daily uplifting scripture to them etc.
♥ Ask your Police or Fire Station if they would like some handmade Teddy Bears for scared little ones they rescue.
♥ Send a Christmas card and/or make a phone to a loved one.
♥ Go caroling around your neighborhood with your family and friends.
Choose 2 or 2 songs to sing.
♥ Knit or crochet something warm for your family or a good friend.

Week 3:
Light Your FAMILY |
♥
Text a message of
encouragement and caring to someone you know who might need a lift.
♥ Bake some delicious
cookies or other goodies then take some to a
neighbor, especially to someone who may be alone for the holidays...
(before you eat them all!!)
♥ Share the recipe
LINK with online friends.
♥ Try a new recipe for the holidays and make it for your family, or just for you! :)

Week 4:
Light Your FAITH |
♥
Read the Christmas
story
alone or with your family. Write your thoughts about it online, or in a
Journal. Express thanks to Heavenly Father for sending His only
Begotten Son to come to this earth to be our Savior.
♥ Call or text a message of love for a family member or a friend who cannot be with you this Christmas or may be lonely.
♥ Watch this beautiful Christmas video.
♥ On December 21st, attend a special
Christmas Church service near you!
