Materials
A few yards of Orange Worsted Weight (#4) yarn, small amount of green yarn for stem.
Size G (4 mm) crochet hook
Scissors and yarn needle
Pin for back
Abbreviations: Ch = chain, sl st = slip stitch, sc = single crochet, dc = double crochet

Round 1: Ch 3, dc in the first ch, make 11 more dcs (12 dc total). Join and ch 1.

Round 2: Sc in the base of the ch 1 join, make 2 sc in each dc around leaving the last dc open!  Cut 3" yarn tail.  (22 sts)

Stem: Using green sc in the last dc and in the open dc.  Chain 4, then sc back down the ch 4.  Cut 3" yarn tail to end off.
Sl st in base of the ch 4.
(I tied the green ends into a square knot in the back and then wove them under green stitches.)

Sew your pin to the back.  You can also use a safety pin. OR you could add a piece of yarn to the top to hang it in a window or one a door. Make a bunch, and hang them on a long chain to hang across a window, or top of the door.
You can also cut out small Jack-o-Lantern facial features from felt and use craft glue to glue on.
