Bev's September Cloth
Copyright Beverly A. Qualheim 2020
cloth can be used to wash dishes, to wash countertops, to wash
people--very eco-friendly and versatile! I recommend making 1 for
each day of the week. ♥
Based on Rachel's Hat
Cloth ends up being about 7 1/2" x 8" although you could make it smaller or larger by using multiples of 4
Approx. 90 yards of worsted weight kitchen cotton yarn
Size 8 (5 mm) knitting needles
Scissors to cut yarn, darning needle to weave in ends.
Let's get started!
Cast on 32 sts
Rows 1-4: knit each row (garter stitch)
Rows 5-8: *Knit 2, purl 2, repeat from * across
Repeat these 8 rows a total of 5 times.
Knit 3 rows (garter stitch) then cast off on row 4. Cut 3"
yarn tail and weave back and forth several times to anchor yarn. Also,
weave beginning yarn tail to anchor.
These will be welcome gifts this holiday season, or to donate to kits for the homeless, or to soup kitchens.
