Pink
Ribbon/Cancer Awareness Ideas

On March 28, 1983, my best
girlfriend, my mom, Helen Elizabeth (Magee) Johnson, passed away. She
was just 54 and the bravest person I have ever known. For 7 years she
battled breast cancer. I miss her smile and her laugh, and her
sense of humor. My heart twinges (just a little) when my friends
visit their moms, or hang out with them at the mall, or just talk with
their mothers on the phone. My mom died 9 weeks after my 2nd baby
was born. I wish scientists would find a cure
already!!
My prayer is that no other daughter (or son) would need to lose their
mom, or aunt, or grandma, or sister to this disease. So far I
have lost my mom and 2 aunts to this disease and my older sister is a
survivor of it! My husband and I will be setting up a booth at
the local "Relay for Life" April 2007, and hope to walk and raise money
to help find cures for all kinds of cancers.
Here are some patterns to make
to help bring awareness to everyone about this plight!
If you
know of any more links I should add, please email me.
