Bev's Country Cottage FAQ's
I get questions sent to me every day, and many are the same ones, just worded a bit differently.  I would like to address those here.  If you don't see your question answered here, then please sent it along to me and I will do my best to answer it.  First of all, if you have a COPYRIGHT Question... here is a really good website with info about that for crafters COPYRIGHTS for CRAFTERS!
And more on Copyrighted patterns from Girl from Auntie

    1)
    Q:
Can you please tell me how to make this pattern, or that pattern, or I don't understand the instructions on this pattern...?
A: The first question is one I hear all the time.  Please know that if I did not personally create the pattern, (they have my name with the copyright) it is highly unlikely I will be able to answer any questions about it, even if it is on my site.  Also, many of you don't know which patterns are on my site, and which are just LINKS to other pages.  You can tell this by looking at that WHITE LONG BAR, at the top of your monitor/page that lists the address for the page you are on.  If it says bevscountrycottage.com in there, the pattern is on my page.  If not, it isn't.

    2)
Q: I don't understand the directions on this pattern on Mary's site, can you help me?
A: I'm sorry, you need to go to Mary's site and find a way to email her and ask her.

    3)
Q: How can I join your website?

A: My website is free, there is nothing to join.

    4)
    Q:
Where can I find 'such and such' pattern?
A: First you can look around my website.  I have many pages... also on my main page
    www.bevscountrycottage.com
    My pattern page itself is:
    http://www.bevscountrycottage.com/patterns.html
If I don't have it linked from my site, you can do a 'safe google search' on most of my pages too.   Just type in what you are looking for, in the white blank line on those search boxes, like "Egg Cozy Pattern", and click  'SEARCH'.

    5)
Q: Where can I send all the baby items I made?
A: You can either take them to a loal hospital, check to see first if they need what you have made.  Or, you can look on this page:
    http://www.bevscountrycottage.com/peds.html
    or offsite
    http://www.carewear.org

I love to crochet, and I would love to make stuff to donate. How does this work?? Do I send them right to the hospitals I choose from your list?
You can choose a hospital in your area that might be in need of the items you wish to make.  You will need to go there in person, or call and talk to the nurses on the OB floor or special nurseries.  Ask THEM what items they need.  Be sure to ask what colors are preferred as some don't want things made in yellow or blue, as they make ill babies look worse.  Be sure they know your items are to GIVEN to the patients and are not to be sold in the Gift Shop.

You can also check with this page and see if there is a charity near you or that you wish to mail packages to:

    6)
Q: You asked me to send you the URL of the page I had a question about, what is a URL?
A:  A URL is the exact web address of the page you are on. It will start with http://www.  It stands for "
    Uniform Resource Locator".

    7)
Q: Why are there broken links on some pages?
    A:
Because there are not enough hours in the day for me to spend all day long searching for who still is maintaining their website, basically. =)  If you find a broken link, please email me with the page where it is located and the name of the pattern link that is not working, and I will fix it as soon as I can.

    8)
Q: Why can't I just contact you directly, I don't like using the email page?
A:  I don't post my email address online because there are people out there with spidering devices who search people's websites looking for email addresses to sell.  Most of those addresses are sold to spammers including those who market pornography.  No thanks!

    9)
Q:  Can you please make me a pair of slippers, hat, sweater, dog coat.... and I will pay you?
A: I'm really sorry but I don't make items to sell, as my priority is to make things for family and humanitarian causes. I have little time to spare as it is. I have a page that has tutorials listed so you can learn to knit or crochet. It's a great skill to know! =)

        10)

Q. I just want to make a few of your patterns into items to sell, it's not like I am going to get rich or anything. Why                  can't I sell them!?
A: Basically because you didn't create those patterns and because that is the way I choose to have my copyright set up. They are MY patterns. I am the one who spent hours creating them, creating pages with them on it, (at MY expense)  and those are the copyright rules I chose.  I want items made from my patterns to be given to family, to friends as gifts, and most of all donated to humanitarian causes worldwide.

    11.)
    Q. I want to make ...insert pattern name... in a larger/smaller size?  Can you tell me how to do that?
    A. No, sorry.  My patterns come 'as is' in the sizes I made them.  Here are pages on how to RESIZE KNITTED PATTERNS
