Granny Square Earrings

These are adorable earrings, and can be made for any holiday or season
depending on the color of thread used.


Materials:
1 pair earring wires
a few yards of tatting thread (or Number 10 thread) in color or colors of your choice (Varigated works great!)
(White, green, red for Christmas)
Steel crochet hook size 10
Finished earrings measure about 1" square.

Earring:  Make 2
With white, ch 4, sl st in 4th ch from the hook to form ring.
RND 1:  Ch 3 (counts as first dc of rnd throughout), 2 dc in ring, ch 2, (3 dc in ring, ch 2) 3 times, join with sl st to top of 1st ch 3.
RND 2:  Ch 3, in same ch 2 sp work 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 1, (in next ch 2 sp work 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 1) 3 times.  (To make smaller -purple- earrings, finish here.)
RND 3:  Ch 3, in same ch 2 sp work 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc in next ch 1 sp, ch 1, (in next ch 2 sp work 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 1, in next ch 1 sp work 3 dc, ch 1) 3 times.  Join.
End off.
(or you can ch 1 and sc around the entire earring, then end off)

Work in thread ends on wrong side of work and then starch lightly and let dry.  Hook onto earring wires.
