Brigit's Flower-Back Bonnet
Copyright Beverly A. Qualheim 2013, 2017

This precious little bonnet will fit a tiny angel who weighs about 1 - 1.5 lbs  with a head circumference of 7" - 8".  This bonnet can be made for girls or boys depending on the flower and front color you choose.  I created this pattern to honor my friend Kelly's sweet little angel, Brigit.
Size G crochet hook  (If you crochet loosely, use an F or E hook)
Less than 1 oz of baby yarn main color (I chose white Bernat Softee Baby) and 5 yds contrast color for flower and front ties.

START flower in back
Ch 4, and join with sl st to form a ring.
R1: Chain 5 and sl st inside ring.  (petal) Make 5 more petals inside ring.
R2: Make 5 scs inside 1st petal. Repeat for each petal.

Change to main color - join with sl st.
R3: Ch 3, dc in each sc around 5 petals leaving the last one unworked. (25 dc) Ch 3, turn.

Rs 4-6: Dc in each dc, ch 3, turn.   On R6 don't ch 3 at the end.
