73 yards  (67 metres) soft worsted weight yarn (Caron Simply Soft is good)
Size G 4mm newborn (H 5 mm)  crochet hook

Finished size of sole is approx 3.25", height of bootie from heel to top of cuff = 3" (Cuff can be rolled over)  booties-back

NOTE:  I did not count the beginning of row chain 3's as a double crochet.

ABBREV.  Ch = chain,   sl st = slip stitch, sc = single crochet, dc = double crochet.

Rnd 1:  Chain 10.  2 dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in each of next 5  chs, 5 dc in end chain.  Now working down the backside of chain (see photo), dc in next 5 chs,  2 dc in last ch.  Join with a sl st in the top of first dc.

Rnd 2:  Ch 3, 1 dc in base of ch 3, dc in each of next 7 sts, 2 dc in each of next 3 sts, dc in each of next 7 sts, 2 dc in next st.  Join with a sl st in the top of first dc. (24 dcs)

Rnd 3:  Ch 3.  dc in the BACK LOOP of base of ch 3 and in the back loop of every stitch around, 2 dc in last stitch.  Join with a sl st in the top of first dc.

Rnd 4:  Ch 3,  dc in base of ch 3, dc in next 8 stitches, dc decrease over the next 2 dcs, repeat decrease 2 more times in the next 4 dcs, dc in each of the next 8 sts.  Join with a sl st in the top of first dc.  (21 dcs)

Rnd 5:  Ch 3,  dc in base of ch 3, dc in next 7 stitches, dc decrease over the next 2 dcs, repeat decrease 2 more times, dc in each of the next 6 sts. Join with a sl st in the top of first dc.  (18 dcs)

Rnd 6:  Ch 3.  dc in base of ch  3 and in each stitch around. Join with a sl st in the top of first dc.  

Rnd 7 (cuff):  Ch 1.  *sc in next st, ch 1, sc in next stitch. Repeat from * around.  Join.  End off with 3" tail, weave in yarn tail. 

TIES: Make 2- chain 62.  Weave in and out of round 6.
