*** B-Easy Mittens ***

Materials needed:
Worsted weight (#4) yarn
Size H (5mm) crochet hook
yarn needle and scissors
BLO- back loops only; ch = chain; sc = single crochet; sts = stitches
Gauge= 4 sc =1" 4 rows = 1"

You can make these any size you want.
Toddlers- thumbless: chain 16 (do 20 rows)
3-4 year olds chain 23 (do 22 rows)
5-6 year olds chain 26 (do 23 rows)
7-10 year olds chain 29 (do 24 rows)
Teens/adults chain 35 (do 25, or 26 rows for a wider hand) gather top mitten

Row 1: Sc in the ch next to hook and in each ch across, ch 1, turn
Row 2. Hand width (see list above) : Sc in sc next to hook (BLO) and in each sc across, ch 1 and turn.
Rows 3- ? (SEE Sizes above) : Sc in sc next to hook (BLO) and in each sc across, ch 1 and turn. On last row for the size you chose, do not chain 1, just end off with approz. 15" yarn.
Weave in and out of the scs across the top of sts. Pull tightly to gather top. If there is still a hole, simply criss cross over the top of the mitten with a few sts.
End with 3 sts on top of each other.
Now sew the side seams.
Seam one side completely closed and the other seam leave 4 sc unstitched in the middle (or enough for thumb). Finish stitching to the cuff on this side.

You can add length to the cuff by sc in each st around for a few rounds. ♥
thumb hole

Thumb: Attach yarn anywhere in the sts left open for thumb. Sc in every stitch OR for tighter cuff, every other stitch inside hole. Repeat around and around until thumb is correct length ((see info below) then decrease by sc 2 sts together around cuff.. End off with 6" yarn, thread needles and weave in and out of top of thumb, gather. End off.

Toddler/Preschool = 5" around at base of thumb. Mitten length from the start of cuff to tips of fingers = 6" . Cuff length = 2.5". Thumb = 1.25"
Child 4- 6 years = 5.5" around at base of thumb. Mitten length from the start of cuff to tips of fingers = 8.5". Cuff length = 2.75" . Thumb = 1.50"
Child 6-8 years = 6" around at base of thumb. Mitten length from the start of cuff to tips of fingers = 8.75". Cuff length = 2.75" . Thumb = 1.75"
Child 8-12 years = 7" around at base of thumb. Mitten length from the start of cuff to tips of fingers = 9.25". Cuff length = 2.75" . Thumb = 2"
Teen/Small adult = 7.50" around at base of thumb. Mitten length from the start of the cuff to the tips of fingers = 10.5". Cuff length = 3" Thumb = 2.25"
Adult Medium = 7.75" - 8.25" around at base of thumb. Mitten length from the start of the cuff to the tips of fingers = 11.50". Cuff length = 3.0". Thumb = 2.5"
Adult Large = 8.5" - 9" around at base of thumb. Mitten length from the start of the cuff to the tips of fingers = 12.25". Cuff length = 3.0". Thumb = 3"
