70's  Pony-tie
copyright 1999, 2015 Beverly A. Qualheim -all rights reserved

I was looking at my daughters hair the other day and trying to think of ways to keep it neater-- a never ending battle, right moms?  Then, I remembered these fun hair ties the little girls wore in the 1970's and decided to try to crochet some for my girls.  Here's the result--make them in lots of different colors for fun.

Size G hook
A few yards of knitting worsted yarn.

Ch 115
Dc in the 4th ch from the hook, make 4 more dc in same ch
Make 5 dc in each of the next 16 chs
1 sc in each ch till the last 16 chs
Make 5 dc in each of the 16 chs

End off and work in thread tails.    Tie around a pony holder or elastic.  Let hang down or tie in a bow.
