Millie's Cloth (or scarf!)

Millie Hernandez was a dear friend of mine who loved crocheting things for people in need of some handmade love.
She loved the V-Stich and this is a slight variation to honor her memory. Miss you Millie, see you on the other side of the veil.

Abbreviations:
CH = chain
close up millies scarf
SC = single crochet
DC = double crochet
Stitch gauge with an I (5.5 mm) hook  is 6 rows= 3" and 9 stitches of sc = 3")

One ball (97 yds makes 2) Sugar and Cream Cotton (or similar medium weight #4 cotton yarn.)
Size H (5 mm) OR I (5.5 mm) hook
Yarn needle and scissors

Chain 24. Turn.
Row 1: Sc in each chain across. Ch 3, turn
Row 2: Dc in base of the chain 3. *Skip 1 sc, make 2 dc in the next sc*.  Repeat from * to * across row. Ch 1, turn
Row 3: Sc in top of each dc across row. Ch 3, turn.
Rows 4 - 17: repeat rows 2 and 3, ending with a sc row.
Cut 4 inch strand of yarn, thread onto yarn needle and weave in and out several times to anchor yarn.
Cloth measures approximately 7.5" across.



You can also crochet a warm scarf using #4 medium weight worsted yarn using the above pattern and enough rows to make 5 feet of scarf for an adult. 4 feet length for a child.
