Approx 250 yds #4 worsted weight yarn
Size 5.5 mm (I) Crochet hook
Yarn needle and scissors
Chain (ch), Single Crochet (sc), Double Crochet/s (dc/s), Stitches (sts)
(Made doing back loop only in each stitch to provide a ridge)
4" wide and 32" long
Chain 18
Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across, ch 1, turn (15 sts)
Row 2: Sc in base of ch 1 and in BLO of each dc across, ch 2, turn (15 sts)
Row 3: Dc in base of ch 2 and in BLO of each sc across row, ch 1, turn (15 sts)
Rows 4 - 50: Repeat rows 2 and 3 ending with a dc row.
Row 51: Sc into first 5 dcs, ch 5, skip 5 dcs, sc in last 5 dcs, ch 2, turn (10 sc and 5 chains)
Row 52: Dc in BLO base of ch 2 and in each sc across, including making 5 dcs in the chain 5. Ch 1, turn. (15 sts)
Rows 53 - 67: Repeat rows 2 and 3.
Row 68: Dc across in BLO but no ch 1 at the end. Cut 4" tail and weave in ends.
