Bev's Bright Scarf

(Made in multiples of 3)

This is an easy to crochet scarf and it makes a lovely scarf to wear!
Materials needed:
Size I (5.5 mm) Crochet Hook
180 - 200 yards of medium weight (4) yarn, approximately 9 yards for each row. I used Big Twist Value from JoAnn.com
Gauge: 3 sts = 1" (sc, ch 2, sk 2, sc); 11 rows = 3"
Abbreviations used: ch = chain; sc = single crochet; sk = skip
Chain 150 (child's scarf) (approx. 3" wide and 40" long)
Chain 198 (adult's scarf) (approx. 6" wide and 65" long)
Row 1: (Leave
a 4" long tail to start) Sc into 3rd ch from hook, *ch 2, sk 2, sc in
the next ch. Repeat from * across row ending with a sc and change
colors. (Leaving 4" tail again - these will become the fringe). Ch 3,
turn.
Row 2 - 11 (22): Using new color now sc in the ch 2 space of the row below, *ch 2, sk 2, sc in the ch 2 space of row below. Repeat
from * across row ending with a sc in the ch 2 at the end of the
previous row, and change colors (Leaving 4" tail which you tie in a
square knot to previous color). Ch 3, turn.
(On last row just end off, leaving 4" tail.) Trim the tail ends to match.
Alternate end: You can grab some colorful yarn and sc in each stitch around to end off. Corners are sc ch 1 sc.
