Neurology Hats - "Keesha's Project"

graphic courtesy of cutecolors

When we make chemo/cancer caps, we don't realize there are others out there who have their heads shaved for surgeries who would love a pretty hat to wear while their hair grows back.  All sizes are needed from childrens to adult. One thing to keep in mind is that we need to make these hats a little larger than the chemo caps as surgery patients usually have stitches and some swelling from surgery.

If you need first hand info on the best hats to make, please email KEESHA
and be sure to visit her blog:

Places to donate Neuro-Caps

We do have a neurosurgery floor and offer turbans/caps to this patient population. We would be happy to accept donations like this
and you may send them to my attention at the address listed below. Please just include a note in your donation to remind us of the
patient population you would like to see served.  Thanks again for keeping our patients in mind!

I think it would be lovely to have caps made by your group. We do neurosurgery on all ages of patients (pediatric to adult) and have a
very busy service. We probably use about 5-10/week on the adult service and maybe half that on the pediatric service.

I spoke to the Rehab Operations group regarding your donation and we do feel we have some patients who could use the caps.   We'd like to take small shipment to start with and see how it goes. Again, thank you.

Another hospital that is in desperate need (of neuro caps)...  is where I go every two weeks as a patient. It is a brand new neurological institute at the hospital (there is an entirely separate hospital building)."
