Hat and No-Scratch Mitts

ITA Newborn loom (for sale
above!) I love these - so easy on the hands!
CinDWood's 15 peg bootie loom (for mitts)
1 oz each of 2 soft yarns (you will use 2 strands held together
throughout for the hat and only 1 strand for mitts)
HAT
Cast on (wrap) 2 rows using double strands yarn.
Single knit (1 wrap over 1 wrap) for 12 rows
Turn up to form brim (Pix of how-to-make-
brim)
Single knit 12 more rows and remove from loom using the gathered method.
MITTS - use 15 peg
Bootie Loom (scroll down to "Newborn Slipper 15 pegs half in.
gauge" $5)
Cast on (wrap) 2 rows, using just 1 strand of yarn, and e-wrap
knit for 20 rows in single knit stitch (1
over 1)
Turn up to form brim (actually, cuff on mitts, but it's the same method
as making a brim - see above)
Knit 14 more rows
Remove with gathering method.
