Ch 4, join with sl st to form ring.
Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as first DC here and throughout), 15 DC in ring. Join with sl st to first DC, 16 DC total
Round 2: Ch 3, DC in same st, 2 DC in next st around. Join with sl st to first DC, 32 DC total.
Round 3: Ch 3, DC in next 6 sts, *2 DC, ch 2, 2 DC* in next st (corner), **DC in next 7 sts, *2 DC, ch 2, 2 DC* in next st**, repeat between ** twice more. Join with sl st to first DC.
Round 4: Ch 3, DC in next 8 sts, *2 DC, ch 2, 2 DC* in corner space, **DC in next 9 sts, *2 DC, ch 2, 2 DC* in next corner space**, repeat between ** twice more. DC in next 2 sts. Join with sl st to first DC.
Round 5: Ch 3, DC in next 10 sts, *2 DC, ch 2, 2 DC* in corner space, **DC in next 11 sts, *2 DC, ch 2, 2 DC* in next corner space**, repeat between ** twice more. DC in next 4 sts. Join with sl st to first DC.
Finish off. Weave in all ends. You don't have to be too perfect, the animals won't mind.
