Bev's "RUTH" Scarf
Copyright
Beverly A. Qualheim 2012 (You may make these to sell, with
my blessing)
I named this
pattern after one of my best friends 'Ruth Doxey' who went back to
Heaven Feb 26, 2011. She was my crafting partner and co-creator
of "CRAFTING ANGELS" here in Logandale. Ruth loved to crochet and
knit items for those in need and while I miss her, I know she is up
there still helping people on earth! These scarves
are perfect to make and donate to domestic violence shelters, and other
places where the ladies just need to know they are not forgotten, but
are loved.
One 3.5 oz
skein will be plenty, although I like to mix fun fur, or flag yarn with
a strand of Simply Soft or baby yarn, and it makes a gorgeous scarf
that's very easy to knit (beginner pattern) and fun to wear! Gauge: 3 sts =1" (2.5 cm) 5 rows=1"
(2.5 cm).
Scarf is approx 3.5" (9 cm) wide and 5' (153 cm) long

Size
11 (8mm) (makes a bit looser knit which is drapey and beautiful)
Cast on 13 stitches (holding 2 strands of #2 or #3 yarn together)
Knit, knit, knit each row till your
scarf is about 5 feet long (153 cm). (230 rows)
Cast off and weave ends in well.
If you need a place to donate these fun and lovely scarves (check with
your own Women's Shelters first) or you could make them for Millie's Soup Kitchen.
