Qualheim ![]() These sweet 3.25" x 3.25" pouches are knitted or crocheted with love, for children who are hard of hearing, to give them a fun, safe place to store their hearing aids while they sleep, bathe etc. and are not wearing them. They would also work great for Nursing Home residents to keep track of their aids. Materials needed: A few yards of Worsted Weight yarn in main color 1 yard of contrast baby yarn for the button loop Size 4 (3.5 mm) knitting needles (you want a tighter knit) Cute button- about 1/2" or so in size Knitted Hearing Aid Pouch Cast on 18 sts Knit every row for 80 rows/40 ridges (approx. 8" long) Cast off loosely. Cut yarn. Weave in ends. Finishing: Fold up the bottom about 3". Using a new piece of main color yarn about 20" long, whip stitch up one side, stitch back 3 sts, Cut yarn. Whip stitch up the other side. You will have a top flap now. Using the contrast baby yarn, sc across the top edge of flap to the 'middle' - in about 9 stitches. Chain 6 or 7, and join into the start of the chain stitch - thus forming a loop, continue sc-ing across the rest of the top edge. End off. Sew your button on to the middle front of the pouch as shown in photo. Turn Rows 2- 34 (or 8") Sc in the 2nd st from the hook, ch 1. Turn Finishing: Fold up the bottom about 3". Using the contrast baby yarn, sc across the top edge of flap to the 'middle' - in about 8 stitches.
