Size
K (6.5 mm) Hook and 2 colors Bulky #5 weight yarn - I used Lion Brand
Homespun yarn (300 yds yarn)
Ch
170 (makes it almost 6' long)
Row
1: Dc in 4th ch
from hook and in every st across. Ch 3, turn.
Row
2-7: Dc in dc next to hook and in every dc across. Ch 3,
turn. End
off.
Finishing edge - optional: Add
a new color at the
corner
and make 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in same st. Now dc in each st to
corner
(2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc), repeat until all the way around scarf. Add fringe
if
desired.
(You can see the start of the contrast edge in the photo, as well as
the scarf without edging.)

Finished
size 6” x (50" for kids) 65” (Multiples of 2 + 1)
Ch 17 loosely
Row 1: Sc in second
ch from hook, dc in next ch. Continue the pattern, alternating between
sc and dc until you reach the end of the row. (end of the row is a DC) Ch 1 and turn.
Row 2: Sc in first
dc, dc in next sc. Continue the pattern, alternating between sc and dc until
you reach the end of the row. Ch 1 and turn.
Repeat
row 2 until scarf reaches desired length.
Finish
off and weave in ends.
