K Hook and 2 colors Lion Brand
Homespun yarn (7 oz yarn - 6 oz of main color, 1 oz of contrast)
Ch
170 (makes it almost 6' long)
Row
1: Dc in 4th ch
from hook and in every st across. Ch 3, turn.
Row
2-7: Dc in dc next to hook and in every dc across. Ch 3,
turn. End
off.
Finishing edge - optional: Add
a new color at the
corner
and make 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in same st. Now dc in each st to
corner
(2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc), repeat until all the way around scarf. Add fringe
if
desired.

the scarf without edging.)

shorter that the height of the person)

4 oz of 4 ply SOFT worsted weight yarn. I love Caron Simply Soft
Yarn
Ch 27 (width)
Row 1: Dc in 3rd ch from the
hook-counts as 1 dc, 2 dc in same ch,
(skip 1 ch, sc in next ch, skip 1 ch, 3 dc in next ch [shell made]) across, 3 dc in last ch, ch 3 and turn.
Row 2: Skip 1st st and sc in next st
~ in the center dc
of shell, *skip next st, 3 dc
in next st, skip 1 st, sc in next st* repeat from * to * across
to next to last st- sc in that, ch 3 and turn.
Row 3: Make 2 more dc in base of the ch 3,
*skip next st, sc in next st, skip next st, 3 dc in next st* repeat
from *to* across finishing with 3 dc, ch 3 and turn.
Repeat rows 2 and 3 until scarf is 60-65" long (approx. 7" wide),
adding new colors as you use up your scraps.
