This
pattern is very easy to do and quite cute!
Size F hook for preemie
under
3 lbs, Size G hook for preemie over 3 lbs
Baby, sport weight, 4-ply
worsted weight yarn
Use smaller hook for 4-ply
yarn
Use "baby" colors, (pastels,
pinks, blues, peach, white, variegated)
ALL WORK DONE IN BACK
LOOPS
Ch 6. Join with sl st. Ch
3.
ROUND 1: 1 dc in same st as
ch 3. 2 dc in each st around. Join with sl. st. (12 sts)
ROUND 2: Ch 3. 1 dc in same
st as ch 3. 2 dc in each st around.
ROUND 3: Ch 3. (Counts as
1 dc). 1 dc in same st as ch 3. *1 dc next 2 sts, 2 dc next 3 sts.*
Repeat
from * around. Join with st st.
ROUND 4: Ch 3 Dc in each st
around.
ROUNDS 5-7: Repeat Round 4.
ROUND 8: Sc in each st
around.
Join with sl st.
ROUNDS 9-12: Repeat Round
8.
RUFFLE ROUND: 3 hdc in
each
st all the way around. Join with sl st. Fasten off. Add pom pom.
VARIATION: For a little boy,
just keep sc around after Round 12 for 2-3 rounds. Roll up the brim.

These booties are like tube
socks. They can also be used as mittens!
ALL WORK DONE IN BACK LOOPS
ROUND 1: Ch 2. 6 sc in
2nd ch from hook. Join with sl st in 1st sc. (6 sc)
ROUND 2: Ch 1. 2 sc in 1st
st. 2 sc in each st around. Join with sl st. (12 sc)
ROUND 3: Ch 1. 2 sc in 1st
st. Sc in next st. (2 sc in next st, sc in next st) around. Join with
sl
st. (18 sc)
ROUNDS 4-10: Ch 1. Sc in
each
st around. Join with sl st. (18 sc)
ROUND 11: Ch 1. Sc in 1st
st, ch 1, sk next st. (Sc in next st, ch 1, sk next st) around. Join
with
sl st.
RUFFLE ROUND: Ch 3. Sc in
next st, (ch 3, sc in next ch 1 sp, ch 3, sc in next st) around. Join
with
sl st. Fasten off.
TIES: (Make two) Ch for
9".
Fasten off. Thread tie through Round 11. Tie in front.
