Cast on 21 stitches
Row 1: K1, inc, K7, inc, K1, inc, K7, inc, K1
(25 sts).
Row 2: Knit.
Row 3: K1, inc, K9, inc, K1, inc, K9, inc, K1 (29 sts).
Row 4: Knit.
Row 5: K1, inc, K11, inc, K1, inc, K11, inc, K1 (33 sts).
Row 6: Knit
Row 7: K1, inc, K13, inc, K1, inc, K13, inc, K1 (37 sts).
Row 8: K2 tog, K33, K2 tog (35 sts).
Rows 9-12: Knit.
Row 13: K21, K2 tog, turn.
Row 14: P7, P2 tog, turn.
Row 15: K7, K2 tog, turn
Rows 16-23: Continue decreases until 24 sts are left on the
needle. Knit to end of Row 23.
Row 24: Purl all 24 stitches.
Row 25:* K1, YO, K2 tog, YO,* repeat until 2 stitches
remain. YO, K2) (eyelets made).
Row 26: Purl. (32 stitches)
Ribbing:
Rows 1-2: *K2, P2* across row.
Row 3: K2,* P2, K2 together, leave stitches on needle. Insert
right needle between the two stitches and knit one stitch, then slide
the stitches off the left needle (mock cable made)*, repeat across row.
Rows 4-6: *K2, P2* across row.
Row 7: Repeat Row 3
Rows 8-10: Same as Rows 4-6.
Bind off in ribbing until two sts remain, P2 together, bind off last
stitch. This will give you a nice square edge. Leave 6-8
inch end to sew bootie.
Cut two pieces of ribbon 15 inches.
Thread tapestry needle with ribbon and weave through eyelets, then tie
a bow.
