Dorothy's Broccoli Casserole

20 oz pkg frozen broccoli
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 small can mushrooms
1 jar boiled onions-optional
1/2 c, cheddar cheese
1/4 c. bread crums or croutons
Cook broccoli and drain it.  Place in 3 qt casserole dish.  Add soup, mushrooms, onlions and cheese (save a little for top).  Sprinkle breadcrumbs and rest of cheese on top.  Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

(Bev's addition)  Saute' 1 cup cubed chicken or use precooked chicken.  Add to casserole before adding cheese on top.
