Bev's Beginner Hat

This is for a newborn baby hat. Hat height =5" Length= 10.5"
Size 8 knitting needles
1 oz of worsted weight yarn
Cast on 20 stitches (this is the height)
Knit each row for 72 rows (10.5" rectangle - this is the width)
Bind off stitches; fold hat in half widthwise, and whip stitch the side seam.
Weave yarn in and out of the stitches at the top and pull to gather top of hat.
Weave the yarn inside the top of the hat, and tie the strand together, or weave in and out to secure.
