    Children's Mercy is in need of Teddy Bears and Blankets for children aged newborn to 16. 
    (IMPORTANT: "Teddy Bears should be made of cotton or washable material and no buttons as that could be a chocking hazard to small children")

    Plus, their neonatal unit is in need of:

Bev's Baby Seed Cap
in small newborn and preemie sizes

1 oz Caron Simply Soft yarn
CO 63 sts (53 sts)
Rows 1-8 Knit 1, purl 1 across the row, ending each row on knit 1.
This forms the seed st brim.
Rows 9-26: Stockinette st (knit 1 row, purl 1 row)
Row 27 Decrease Rows: *K1, k2 tog into back of st.
Repeat from * across.
Row 28: purl
Row 29: Decrease row k1, k2 tog across.
Repeat until there are about 12 sts left.  Purl across.  Cut yarn leaving a 14" tail.
Run needle and yarn through remaining sts on needle.  Pull to draw shut.
Sew side seam,
Add pompom to top.

(from start of decrease to end, is only about 1 1/2")
