BRIM
Rnd 1:  Ch ___, join.  Work hdc around, join.  Now turn work to inside and slst up post of first hdc,    turn work to outside so you are now working around foundation ch.
Rnd 2-?: *Fpdc in next st, bpdc in next st;  rpt from * around, join.
CAP
Rnd 1-?: Work dc in ea st around, join.
CROWN
Rnd 1:  *Dc in next 5 st, (dc dec) in next st;  rpt from * around, join.
Rnd 2:  *Dc in next 4st, (dc dec) in next st;  rpt from * around, join.
Rnd 3:  *Dc in next 3st, (dc dec) in next st;  rpt from * around, join.
Continue decreasing in this manner for specified number of rows.

SIZES
Small Preemie
 With E hook and baby yarn, ch 38.  Work 3 rnds for Brim.  Work 3 rnds for Cap.  Work 4 rnds for  Crown, starting with Rnd 2.
Medium Preemie
 With E hook and baby yarn, ch 46.  Work 4 rnds for Brim.  Work 6 rnds for Cap.  Work 5 rnds for  Crown.
Large Preemie
 With G hook and baby yarn, ch 50.  Work 5 rnds for Brim.  Work 5 rnds for Cap.  Work 6 rnds for  Crown.
Full Term
 Wtih G hook and baby yarn, ch 60.  Work 5 rnds for Brim.  Work 6 rnds for Cap.  Work 6 rnds for  Crown.

For Santa Hats, start decreasing every 9th st and continue in decrease pattern for 9 rnds.  Fold point to front of hat and tack down.
