Using
soft sport or baby yarn and size D, E, or F hook,
chain 7:
Row
1: 2 single crochet (sc) in second chain (ch) from hook

1 sc in each next 4 ch
2 sc in end ch, turn to go
back
4 sc in opposite side of ch
Join to form circle. 12 sc
total.

2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc)
1 dc in same sc
2 dc in each sc around
Join in third ch of beg dc

If a slightly narrower sole
is wanted, ch 2 and half-double crochet (hdc) around.
