I designed these booties for the two and three pounders in NICU. I wanted something not only the right size but something that would stay on without ties. The skin of these little ones is so fragile the nurses do not use the ties
Materials:
Yarn—Any
worsted weight yarn. Note: I
would stay away from Red
Heart
Super Saver, however. It is more a chunky weight than worsted
weight.
Hook---Any hook that will carry the yarn comfortably. I used
a J,
but I
crochet very tightly.
Gauge: Finished size of sole is 2” to 2 ½”
Note: The entire piece is worked round and round from the right side.
