LDS Humanitarian Center in Salt Lake City, UTAH.

I took a few photos of the LDS Humanitarian Center in Salt Lake City, Utah recently.  I was so in awe that I really wish I had taken more, but here are the ones I have from this trip.

Dolls, puppets, wooden cars, and soft toys are given to little ones in orphanages, in war torn zones, in areas of great poverty.  Having them helps these little children forget their worries, if but for a moment, and they can live a small time as children should.

Warm quilts, hats, afghans, baby bootes, dresses, pants, t-shirts and more are sent wherever they are needed.  Newborn kits are put together and sent to new mothers in areas where often those precious babies are sent home wrapped in newspapers.

This chart is on a wall in the center, and it updated daily to record numbers of items that the Humanitarian center ships out. On the left you can see where those shipments have been sent for the month of October 2003. In the next column we see the partner agencies, that the LDS Church worked with to get the food and other items where needed. The 3rd column shows what types of shipments were made, and finally on the right you will see the actual numbers.
