wristwarmer
With worsted weight yarn
size 9 (5.5 mm) needles,
cast on 34 stitches.
Work in K1, P1 rib for 4 inches
Work in garter stitch (knit every row) for 14 rows.
Next row - knit 13, bind off 8 stitches for thumb, knit 13.
Work in garter stitch for 20 rows.

Bind off loosely, fold in half and sew up side seam so thumb is on the side. Make two.

Make these for IV covers, or to warm hands for adults in nursing homes, or to warm hands in shelters.

You could use smaller needles and baby yarn to make these for children.
