only need about 2 oz)

Shell = 3/4" 2
rows = 1"
Abbreviations: Ch = chain, dc= double crochet, sc = single crochet
is made up of 3 dc in one
: 3 dc in 3rd ch from
hook (shell made), *skip 1 chain, sc in next ch, skip 1 st, 3 dc
in next ch. Repeat this pattern
from *across to last 3 chains, do 3 dc in 2nd ch from end, 1 sc in last
ch. Ch 3, turn.
(PATTERN) Row 2 - and all rows till
bunting measures 10":
st, 1 sc in next st (middle dc of the shell you made on previous
row, skip 1 st, 3 dc in next st. Repeat from * across row
ending with a sc in middle dc of last shell. Ch 3, turn.
For the final row when it measures 10", do not chain 3 at the end but
stitch in 4 shells.
Do 9 rows of pattern
hood, using about 4" of the bunting top to form the hood part and going
back and forth. End off cutting a long tail of yarn. Use
this tail to weave in and out in a running stitch, that you can pull
gently to gather the hood. The end ended up being a bit off
centered but it worked out fine to wrap the baby in.
You will need to line this bunting with pretty flannel. I just cut a
square of flannel a little bigger than the bottom of the bunting, then
tuck under the edge and use a sewing needle and matching thread to
stitch it to the bunting.
Cut 1/4" ribbon 22" long - you need 3 of these.
Weave these in at the neck, the bottom and in the middle- you may need
to use a yarn needle to do this. Tie gently.
