You
can decorate your hat any way you want. Please keep in mind that a
preemie's skin is very thin and delicate, so keep your decorations to
the top and front mostly :o)
MATERIALS:
Red Heart Soft
(or any Super Soft) 4ply yarn
1 sk green,
small bits of white, red, yellow, and any other color for decorations
Size H, G, and C
hooks
Yarn Needle
Craft glue
CAP:
Rnd 1...ch 4,
7dcs in 4th ch from hook, join, do not turn....8sts
Rnd 2...ch 2, dc
in joining, (dc in next st, 2dcs in next st) 3 times, dc in last, join,
do not turn....12sts
Rnd 3...ch 2, dc
in joining, (dc in next 2sts, 2dcs in next st) 3 times, dc to end,
join, do not turn....16sts
Rnd 4...ch 2, dc
in joining, (dc in next 3sts, 2dcs in next st) 3 times, dc to end,
join, do not turn....20sts
Rnd 5...ch 2, dc

CHRISTMAS
BALLS:
NOTE:Use glue VERY
sparingly. Only a TINY dot is all that is needed.
Cut
a piece of red about 20 inches, split into 2-2 strand pieces. With size
C hook, form a ring around your finger and work 2 scs in loop, join,
pull tight, tuck ends into center of ball and cut close. Glue where
desired. You can use other colors if desired.
GARLAND:
With size H
hook, chain about 200. Glue where desired.
BOOTIES:
Rnd 1...With
white and size G hook, ch 2, work 10 scs in 2nd ch from hook, join, do
not turn
Rnd 2...(sc in
first st, 2scs in next st) 5 times, join.
Rnd 3...sc 15
Fasten Off.
Rnd 4...With
green attached at any sc, sc 15
Rnd 5-7...sc 15
Rnd 8...sc 4, ch
8, skip 6, sc 4, do not join, ch 1, turn
Rnd 9...sc 4, dc
in 8chs, sc 4, ch1, turn
Rnd 10...dc in
next 2 sts, dc dec over next 2 sts, dc in next 7sts, dc dec over next 2
sts, dc in next 3 sts
Fasten off.
HEEL:
R1...With white,
sc in each left over loop of 8chs from rnd 8, turn
R2...do not ch
1, skip first st, sc in next 5sts, skip 1, sc in last st, turn
R3...do not ch
1, skip first st, sc in next 3 sts, skip 1, sc in last st
Fasten off
leaving a length for sewing.
Sew bottom of
heel to sock.
Weave small
ribbon or yarn in rnd 10 for ties.
