Red Heart Baby Soft Sport Yarn
Size H hook
Finished length of foot (my sample) = 2 1/2 inches (Preemie sized)

(size of hook and weight of yarn will change size)
This part (toe) is worked in rounds, do not join, just keep working around. The pattern is written in segments, not rounds.
Instep  (top of toe circle)

-Ch 2, 6scs in 2nd ch from hook,
-2scs in next 6 sts,
-sc in next st,
Bootie

-ch 15, skip 1 st of instep, be careful not to twist ch,
-sc in next 11 sts,
-sc in each ch,


(sc in next 26 sts) 2 times,



-sc in next 3 sts,
-(skip 1 st, sc in next st) 3 times,
-sc in next 8 sts,
(skip 1 st, sc in next st) 2 times,
-sc in next 10 sts,
-fasten off, leaving a 10 inch piece of yarn for sewing sole. Turn wrong side out and stitch in both loops of each sc . Weave in ends

Top
(worked in rows)
R1..attach yarn with a sc in stitch next to the skiped one in the instep, sc in rem loop of next 15 chs, sc in next st. Ch 2 turn, (17 sts)
R2.. (ch 2 counts as first dc), dc in next 16 sts, ch2 turn
R3..sc in next st, (ch 2, sc in next st) 15 times, dc in last st.
Fasten off. Weave in ends

Tie
Ch 50 of contrasting color, weave in and out of dcs. I use a TINY amount of fabric glue on the ends of the ties before cutting excess yarn.

The instep refers to the top of the toes and is worked in ROUNDS.

Chain 2 and then make 6 sc in 2nd chain from the hook

Round 2: 2 sc in next 6 sc, 1sc in next sc. (13sc)

BOOTIE (this is the sides of the booties and sole)
Chain 15, skip 1 st (on the circle you just made) (be careful not to twist chs) and sc in next 11 sc (on the circle)then sc in each of the 15 chains (you are still working in rounds)

NEXT 2 ROUNDS: sc in 26 sc

ROUND 3: sc in next 3sc, ( skip 1 sc, sc in next sc) 3 times, sc in next 8 sc

ROUND 4: (skip 1st sc, sc in next sc) 2 times, sc in next 10 sc. FASTEN OFF leaving a 10"  length of yarn to sew sole together.

after Round 4 fasten off and leave 10" to sew sole together. Turn wrong side out and stitch in both loops of each sc . Weave in ends.

TOP (work in ROWS)
R1:  attach yarn with a sc in stitch next to the skipped one on the  in the instep(top of toe, original circle), sc in remaining loop of next 15 chs, sc in next st. Ch 2 turn, (17 sts)

R2: (ch 2 counts as first dc), dc in next 16 sts, ch2 turn.

R3:
sc in next st, (ch 2, sc in next st) 15 times, dc in last st.
Fasten off. Weave in ends
