ATTACHING
SQUARES:
Sleeves…Thread
your yarn needle with a piece of matching yarn about 18 inches long. Do not
knot the yarn, leave a tail about 4 inches long.
Keep your stitches loose.
Hold 2 squares with right sides together. Stitch together stitch for
stitch and ch for ch using the back loops only.
Work across to other
corner. Run your yarn loosely across to next corner, Hold 3rd square with
right sides together of the 2 joined ones. Stitch
across to other corner. Run
yarn to next corner, hold 4th square with right side facing the last one
joined. Stitch across to other corner. Fold the 4
squares with
right sides facing each other and stitch across to next corner.
You now have a circle of 4 squares. Without cutting yarn, turn sleeve wrong side out and slip
the squares into sleeve so right sides are facing
each other and with the
seam between 2 squares matching the seam of the sleeve.
Stitch around
matching stitch for stitch. There may be more or less stitches so just ease them
in. Fasten off and weave in only 2 ends.
BORDER:
Attach yarn in
seam of sleeve sq or first sq of bottom. Sc in same st, *work 5dcs in center st of
next cluster of sq, sc in ch 2 space, 5dcs in
center st of next cluster of
sq, sc in seam* Repeat around and join with a sl st to first sc of sleeve
or last st of bottom
