Bev's Recipes STRAWBERRY NUT BREAD

makes 1 loaf
1 1/2 c. mashed strawberries
1 egg
3 TBsp melted shortening
2 c.flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
Beat egg with strawberries and shortening. Sift all dry ingredients into strawberries mixture and stir until just moistened. Add chopped nuts. Turn into greased loaf pan and bake 55 to 60 minutes. Allow to cool 10 minutes before putting on a rack to cool completely.
