Solid 6" Granny Square

These solid granny squares will make a lovely, warm, blanket for someone your love, or for someone you don't know but want to be warm. Many hospitals and shelters love to receive donations of blankets.
If you need a place to send them, "Ministering Angels" can use them to
make into warm blankets for those in need.
Chain 4, sl st to first chain to create a
ring. (Or you can make a 'Magic Circle')
RND 1: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), 2 dc into ring, ch 2, *2 dc into ring, ch 2, repeat from
* twice more. Sl st into top of beginning chain 3.
(You will have 4 'corners').
RND 2: (Loosely) Sl st to corner and make 1 sl st into the corner, Ch 3, 1 dc into corner space, ch 2, 2 dc in same corner
space. * Dc into next 2 dcs to corner. 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc into
corner space. Repeat from * around. Join with a sl st.
RND 3: (Loosely) Sl st to corner, Ch 3, 1 dc into corner space, ch 2, 2 dc in same corner
space. * Dc into next 6 dcs to corner. 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc into
corner space. Repeat from * around. Join with a sl st.
RND 4: (Loosely) Sl st to corner, Ch 3, 1 dc into corner space, ch 2, 2 dc in same corner
space. * Dc into next 10 dcs to corner. 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc into
corner space. Repeat from * around. Join with a sl st.
RND 5: (Loosely) Sl st to corner, Ch 3, 1 dc into corner space, ch 2, 2 dc in same corner
space. * Dc into next 14 dcs to corner. 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc into
corner space. Repeat from * around. Join with a sl st. Finish
off by cutting a 3" yarn tail which you can then weave in and out
several times behind the square. This makes one 6” square.
