Shortbread
"Aunt Maggie"
1 lb butter
1 1/4 cups brown sugar
4 cups flour
Knead together to make a dough, place on
floured board, roll out 1/4 inch thick and cut into shapes,
with cutters or rectangles and triangles.
I like to shape them into 1 inch balls place them on cookie sheet and press
them with a sugared glass or cookie press, (much easier)
Bake in a 300 degree oven for 20-25 minutes
until lightly browned. While still hot I sprinkle with sugar and
put on wire rack to cool. Red or green sugar looks pretty at Christmas.

1 cup cornstarch
1 cup powdered sugar
3 cups flour
same directions as above.
