UPDATE October, 2005 on Leprosy Bandages! RSO does not need more...
There is a group of Vietnam Vets who are still accepting them though.

The latest news from Becky - Oct 12 , 2005  I had heard they did not need bandages once again, so I asked her...

"It's true.  I got an email right as I was leaving last week for San Francisco.  We now have a permanent supply of bandages.  It's actually a mixed blessing.  I'm going to miss all the great letters and notes I got from the people who made the crocheted bandages...
I can't tell you how grateful we are for all the wonderful bandages that were made with such love by your readers.  Please accept our heartfelt thanks and deepest gratitude for supplying them when we so desperately needed them.  Please convey our thanks to your readers for all the sacrifice that was involved in their participating in this project.  Maybe in the future we can partner again in a project.  Thanks for all your kind help.  Fondly, Becky"

This charitable organization helps sponsor toddler homes and children's homes, as well as supports 6 colonies for people affected with leprosy.  If you click on the link above, you will be taken to their main website to learn more about how you can help. They need sponsors for the children and it's only $30 a month... and there are many more items we crafters/moms can make!

Bandages for leprosy-affected people - needed year round, NO deadline!
Mild Soap - Ivory etc

Blind person affected with leprosy- with bandage
One of the blind men who has leprosy, gratefully receiving a handmade bandage.


For the ORPHANAGES
(SUMMER only please for clothes as it is really HOT there ALL year!)
Girls cotton dresses with short sleeves -gently used are fine
Shorts and t-shirts for the boys -gently used are fine
Teddy bears
Dolls
Beanie babies
New or gently used books in English (no religious)
Pajamas
Tied Quilts and blankets
