Bev's Ear-Warming Toque for NEWBORNS
Beverly Qualheim - 2009, 2014
2 strands of very SOFT worsted weight yarn or 1 strand of soft worsted with a strand of baby yarn (2 oz of each) BE CERTAIN the yarn is soft so the hat will stretch gently over baby's head!
Newborn loom (23 pegs)

Holding the 2 strands of yarn together, E-wrap every peg around and repeat so you end up with 2 wrapped rows, (pegs facing you, wrap next peg, under, over-around).  Knit those wrapped pegs by lifting the first wrap over the 2nd.  When done knitting a row, e-wrap again and knit again.

Knit 20 rows total in this manner
Fold up for the brim and knit that off.
E-wrap and knit 7 or 8 more rows, then remove with gathering method.
Weave in ends. Add a pompom.
