FYI ... Kay's notes
--
These are for adults.

I crochet extremely tight, so the hook sizes most likely will need to
be adjusted down a size or two.
Use a Size K Hook
Chain between 30 and 39 stitches - 9.5
to 11.5 inches or so.
Sc in back loop only - makes a ribbing
pattern. At end of row, ch 1 and turn.
Repeat this row until the piece is 18.5
to 20 inches long.
Connect into a tube using a slip stitches.
Switch to G Hook.
Sc around one end of tube (using full loop)
- this is the "fold-up" end.
Switch to J Hook.
Attach with a sc, and sc around the other
end of tube (using full loop) - this is the crown end.
Connect with a sl st.
Ch 2 (first dc); dc in next 3 sc; skip
1 sc; *dc in next 4 sc; skip 1 sc.
Repeat * around tube.
Connect with a sl st.
Repeat * around tube.
Connect with a sl st.
Use one of these to finish off into the
smallest hole you can:
sc, sc, dec sc; repeat around and around until you finish.
Or
sc, dec sc; repeat around and around until you finish.
Cut the yarn about 6 inches. Bring through loop to lock and end.
