Grandma Winders Ginger Snaps - abt. 1920

1 c. shortening
1 c. black molasses
1 tsp ginger
3/4 c. milk
1 c. white sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
enough flour to bind
Roll dough into balls and flatten with bottom of a glass dipped in sugar.  Brush each cookie with milk and egg.  Bake in 375 F degree oven for 8 minutes.
