Bev's INTERNATIONAL CHARITY CRAFTS WEEK"
October 1 - 7th every year!

2007

Bev Q - I will be making mittens for the orphanages that LDS Humanitarian missionaries are currently taking care of.
Chris H - making warm items for the homeless in SLC area
Daphne -
I will be making some booties, hats and mittens. I will be delivering them to a local shelter.

Here's what our readers did in 2005

Bev Q in Nevada - Will be making little gnomes and possibly booties for the FESTIVAL of TREES tree that my friend Kim H and I are auctioning off

Carolyn M. - I am a Co-Team leader of a group of Auxiliary members of Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa, OK.  We call ourselves "The Angel Threads" and knit, crochet, and sew for preemies, newborns, cancer survivors and the bereavement program for non-surviving babies. We will be putting up a bulletin board display outside our office the week of the 1st to inform everyone.

Iris -
Well, for International Charity Crafting Week, I will be making a tube scarf (loom knitted) to donate to a homeless shelter in The Fall (for cold weather). I am using the small balls of yarn I have from previous
projects.

Laura A. - The Preemie Project will be focusing on bereavement items this week.  We feel that bereavement items are often overlooked.  So we want to make this a week of rememberance.
The Preemie Project's volunteers will be setting personal, private goals for the week.

Erica H  -
Hi, Bev.  I've been a fan of your site since January, when I picked knitting (back) up.  In memory of my son, Paul, I've been making baby hats for the UCSF ICN where he lived his short life. July 31st is the one-year anniversary of his death.  On August 1st, I plan to deliver my completed hats (blue ones, white ones, variegated ones, pink ones) to the hospital, during Charity Crafts week.  I will also ship a few off to The Preemie Project.  I may do one or two other things, too.  I still have a bit more yarn to use up, but so far, I've made 73 baby hats in varying sizes from X-Small Preemie to Full-Term Newborn.

Patti N. -  Hi-- I will be making "cool-ties" & "cool-heads" for our kids over there. I will also be crocheting slippers & hats as the weather gets cooler.(Ships Project) I will also be crocheting hats for Ronald McDonald House.(Beanie Babies)

Dianne G -
I'll be working on hats and mittens for the Festival of Trees.  Also, plan to make some slippers.   I hope to finish two blankets for Hooks 'N Grannies.
